DEER
Order One Dog Decoy and one Scent Disk Accessory Kit for Deer for each open area you want to protect from deer.

A Dog Decoy along with the Scent Disk Accessory Kit for Deer will keep Deer away from your property - this includes crop fields, too. Deer can be very destructive eating plants, shrubs, and trees, fruits, gardens and farm fields.

Place the Dog Decoy with the Scent Disk in an open area where the deer would see it as they approach your property. Move the Dog Decoy at least once per week for the first few months. The deer will smell the scent disk, and if they get closer to the property, they will see the movement of the Dog Decoy and will be scared away. Use One Dog Decoy and One Scent Disk Accessory for each open area you want deer to stay out of. Fewer Dog Decoys is most effective. One Dog Decoy should be sufficient for most residential properties. If you can see more than one Dog Decoy from any one place on your property, you have too many Dog Decoys. Fewer is better.

Many of our customers have found the Dog Decoy to be a very effective Deer deterrent. The Dog Decoy is a very cost effective solution, compared to other deer deterrent products such as deer fencing which can be an eye sore, and other sprays or granules that you may need to continuously re-apply when it rains. In addition, the Dog Decoy has no harmful chemicals and is safe to use around pets, children, and edible fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The Dog Decoy with the Scent Disk Accessory, when used properly, will keep deer out of your yard for years to come. If deer are coming to eat out of bird feeders, you may want to take the feeders down for a month so they unlearn that your property is a place for food.

DUCKS
The Dog Decoy with a Wooden Base Accessory will keep ducks out of pools and small ponds (swimming pool size) and off of docks and boats very effectively. It WILL NOT keep ducks out of large ponds or lakes. The Dog Decoy will effectively keep ducks off of docks on large lakes and large ponds, but not out of the body of water itself.

Place one Dog Decoy on a Wooden Base next to the pool or on the dock or boat. Move the Dog Decoy once per week to a new location. Just 10' one way, or 15' another way is enough to keep it effective. Be sure to place the Dog Decoy in an area where the ducks will see the dog as they fly into the area. They will see it and not land in that area.

Keep Ducks out of Your Pool with a Dog Decoy and Wooden Base.

GEESE
The Dog Decoy without a Scent Disk Accessory is very effective keeping geese out of lawns, off of docks, out of swimming pools, and off of rooftops. Use the Scent Disk Accessory for Geese only for really tough goose situations, such as if they have nested in the area in previous years, or geese that are confrontational with people. If the geese have nested in your area in previous years, it is best to put the Dog Decoy with the Scent Disk Accessory in the area where they have nested BEFORE they actually nest. If you find nests they have made previously, you can destroy the nests as long as there are no eggs in the nest. If there are eggs in the nest, contact your local Department of Natural Resources for guidance on laws in your area regarding your situation. The Canada Goose is still federally protected under The Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918.

Using the Dog Decoys is a humane way to deter geese from areas they are unwanted and are a nuisance. Placing the Dog Decoys in the area where their nests would cause issues, the geese will naturally find a nesting place that is 'safer' for their broad. Nesting areas around high traffic areas can cause auto accidents and be extremely dangerous to the geese. Using the Dog Decoys early in the Spring to deter nesting in these areas can eliminate months of the geese staying in that area, since the baby goslings cannot fly until approximately 70 days after hatching.

When choosing the number of Dog Decoys needed for a property, fewer is more effective. Too many Dog Decoys on a property will not look realistic enough to the geese. One Dog Decoy per open area is best. For example, a typical residential property, may want one for the front yard and one for the back yard if the geese tend to visit both the front and back. If the geese normally only visit the back yard, maybe coming onto the lawn from a lake or pond, one Dog Decoy should be enough. Keep in mind that Geese do not understand property lines. This may sound silly, but look at the surrounding areas like a goose would. If they are landing in a neighborhood pond and then walking out of the pond into the residential yards, place the Dog Decoys around the pond to prevent them from landing in your neighborhood entirely.

The Pack of 3 Dog Decoys has been are most popular product for both residential and commercial properties. Normally, with three dogs you can strategically place them to deter the geese entirely.
